Tests carried out on the iPhone 4, the BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, Nokia N97 mini, Samsung Omnia II, and also the iPhone 3GS.
Apple tried to convince that company tests are not biased, Apple claims that the iPhone signals 3GS down from three bars to one bar when the signal attenuation process. whereas on the iPhone 4, the bar fell into one of three bars.
Then what about other smartphones? According to Apple’s other smartphones use different bar display system. For example, in Apple’s tests, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 down from 5 bars to 1 bar when the signal weakened. HTC Droid Eris dropped from 4 bars to 0 bars. Nokia N97 mini bar down from seventh to second. While the Samsung Omnia II, down from 4 bars to 1 bar.
“The opposite of amplification, attenuation occurs when the signal was restricted. All antennas including television, radio, GPS, and cellular antennas can be weakened,” explained Apple.
“The hand of man can cause attenuation to a greater extent than other materials. On the phone, signal loss typically occurs when your hand touches the most sensitive part of the antenna,” writes Apple.
As is known iPhone 4 users complain, when a finger or hand touching the spot on the left side of the phone, the signal is significantly decreased. This causes the iPhone 4 lost connections, and even completely lost if you are in areas with weak signals.
