China Develops New Search Engines

Google will likely continue to experience pressure in China. Because, after getting stiff competition from Baidu, a new site will also be created.

Quoted by Yahoo News, Friday (13/08/2010), China’s biggest telecom operator, China Mobile and the country’s official news agency, Xin Hua will make the search engine service.

In an official statement side Xin Hua, they sure have signed the agreement. Unfortunately there has been no comment from the service with approximately 554 million customers.

Google shares in China’s search engine is reportedly declined this year, in line with government pressure facing China’s largest search engine in the world. According to Analysys International analyst, Google’s market share had fallen sharply to only 24.2 per cent in China. Whereas the previous three months, the market share they had 30.9 percent.

This figure is far different from the increase occurring in the body of Baidu. The dominance of this search engine rose to 70 percent, in contrast with the previous three years, which reached 64 percent.

China, with Internet users amounted to 420 million, believed to be a potential market in the world of search engines. Search engine in China in the second quarter of this year predicted value of USD394 million, or up approximately 48 percent from a year ago.
