Internet search engine company Google plans to stop the transfer of the search engine from China to Hong Kong in the near future.
It is delivered by Google’s David Drummond’s Legal Director. He said if all the transfer sites from Google.cn to Google.com.hk, the world’s largest search engine had been getting a lot of regulars. Unfortunately, Google urged China’s government to stop these steps.
“From the conversations we have done many times, it is unclear if the move to divert our site in China to Hong Kong’s totally unacceptable for the government of China. Even China’s government threatened to revoke licenses of our services if the policy measures is not terminated,” said Drummond, as quoted by Reuters on Wednesday (06/30/2010).
According to Drummond, unlicensed providers (Internet Content Provider) Google will not be able to operate and run the Google.cn. Google in China ICP license will expire this weekend. If the tactics of diversion of this site continues, the government of China to make sure Google is not going to get a license extension.
“If that happens then we will really ‘up’ on China,” he added.
China’s government says if they will continue to maintain a commitment to run what they believe is right. Not because of strict censorship problems, but because of rules that must be executed.
