Microsoft Office 2010 Starter: There’s Only Two Applications

The latest version of Microsoft’s Office recently launched. There are a number of new features and capabilities therein. Including new basic version called Office 2010 Starter Edition as a substitute for the Microsoft Works file types other than his others.

As suggested by its name, the Office Starter Edition is a very limited version of the standard Office suite. There are only two applications (Word and Excel) are included. In addition, both are not the full version.

Some other features that are not available in Office 2010 Starter:
• Customizable toolbar buttons to ribbons and a customizable quick access
• SmartArt
• Editing and mathematical equations
• read full screen display
• Reference (Citation, Bibliography, etc.)
• Tracking changes and comments
• Compare and merge documents
• Licensing and protection of documents
• Automatic Contents
• Macro
• Add-ins
• pivot tables and pivot charts in Excel Starter
• any additional custom commands that are not shown in ribbon

Many of the limitations above may not affect home users, but this of course depends on your needs. Limited version of Office will be available only for the OEM, the alias is not sold at retail.
