Slate 500, the HP Tablet PC Sense

Hewlett-Packard (HP) launched its first tablet, Slate 500. Unlike other tablets that embed a sense of smartphones, tablet PCs HP more taste.

The device is priced at USD799 for the segment is intended for business, armed with the Windows 7 operating system which is used in many standard PC company.

Slate Size 500 approximately 8.9 inches, complete with multi-touch enabled screen. Weighing only 1.5 pounds and was equipped with storage capacity of 64 gigabytes of memory and a digital stylus. For the battery, Slate 500 claimed to be able to survive for five hours of operation.

Launched by Reuters, although equipped with wifi connection but Slate 500 can not be bundled with a cellular network, I think Apple’s tablet, Samsung and Dell.

“This device is similar to a PC with full functionality. Armed with Windows so that you can do an office job here. We hope the public companies in retail, healthcare and insurance can use this tool to develop specific applications in this Slate, in order to improve services them, “said Marketing Director HP, Carol Hess-Nickels.

The price is expensive indeed comparable with sophisticated components that accompany it. One of them is the Intel Atom processor used in Slate. Atom processor currently found in many expensive netbook. Then there are two cameras, each on the front and back of Slate, enabling video conferencing features.
