Vodafone Essar to develop a special phone to India. Phones that rely on energy intake from the sun.
This phone was developed to encourage more Indian community could feel the use of wireless communications, though located in rural areas without a qualified energy intake.
In the mobile data industry in the country, occurred along the addition of 20 million mobile phone connections every month. Most users come from inland areas, where electricity is still a constraint. Even a third of Indians do not have access to electricity, instead just get the heat from the sun.
Previously, Samsung has also launched a similar device approximately a year ago, and Vodafone to continue these steps to reduce the infrastructure gap.
“It allows people who live in rural India to use the phone and connect with relatives,” said Vodafone Essar CEO Marten Pieters, as quoted by the Straits Times, Thursday (29/07/2010).
Mobile solar power with VF 247 series with a starting price of USD44 and will be marketed next month. Intake needed to operate it for eight hours of sunlight instead of electric energy. If you have been filled with energy from the sun then the phone has a battery life for eight days for standby, or approximately four hours to use the phone.
Strengthened with the addition of solar energy, this phone is also equipped with an electronic charger, FM radio, and flashlight.
