Universities in the UK supply iPhones to Students

University of Leeds announced that they will supply the iPhone to all medical students who had entered in the fourth and fifth. Tech habits of young people today and applications in the ever-evolving marketplace makes the smartphone into an interesting learning tool.

According to the university, this is the first time a medical school in the UK supplying smartphones to his students. 520 students at the University of Leeds medical course will be loaned each a capacity of 16GB iPhone 3G as one of their own learning aids. Similarly, as quoted by Mashable.

The phone will be filled with applications that are designed to make students remain informed, help them take lecture notes, and test their knowledge. Students will also be able to download other applications from the AppStore.

Besides mobile phones, the university also provides unlimited internet connection. The aim is to encourage students to stay in touch with their professors and other Siwa via e-mail.

This is not the first time a university provides IOS devices to medical students. Previous Ohio State University of Medicine launched the education program by using the iPod touch, and the results change their students’ learning methods, from which had been using PDAs to switch to the iPod touch and iPhone.

The present-day medical experts are also many who use the IPAD to evaluate their patients and to access specific information.
